Are you superstitious? I'm not even embarrassed to say that I am! I spit when a black cat crosses my path, I try NEVER to break a mirror (why push my luck?) and I don't walk under ladders-but that's mainly because it's dangerous! But I never, & I mean Never, do I walk past a penny and not pick it up! It kills me to see them stuck in gum or imbedded in tar in the road...those I have to walk away from!
This penny is special. I found it heads up ( a plus) said the little poem...
"find a penny pick it up, all day long you have good luck"
tucked it my shoe & there it stays, dancing around as I move through my day, reminding me of what is important in this life, to never forget that life is fragile & never take one single thing for granted.

While I know you aren't old enough to be my mom (she isn't old by any means) but you sure do remind me an awful lot of her! For as long as I can remember, whenever she finds a penny she too says that silly poem. It used to embarrass me, but now I find myself saying it too. Shh, don't tell!
