...Friday
with Friday's Finds
I'm 2 timing today!
I'm playing over at Kim's Cafe and Nancy's a rural journal
I discovered this place Saturday.
Oh it was a dream.
A hidden gem in the valley. Now I want to discover more little nuggets.
In fact, that's all I want to do anymore, travel, shoot...repeat.
Speaking of travel, I booked my airfare to go see Jamie and my sweet baby boy, Erik in a few weeks. I've been reading up on newborn photo shoots and I'm going to give it a go...
...because...
I'm just not going to put any pressure on myself and try to have fun-it sucks when you are a perfectionist at heart.
I don't eat a lot of potato chips but when I do...
...I go for the doubled, curled up ones! They taste better!
I swear...they do!
I've been trying to eat healthier.
It really isn't that hard to do once you put your mind to it. Two major changes I've made is I've learned to like chicken breast so I've been eating that on my salad every night. I switched from my favorite, but very fattening Chipotle Ranch dressing to a honey mustard dressing-YUM!
It sure adds a lot of zing to the greens.
Now...I realize that the above random fact on potato chips is hypocritical to this eating healthy fact!
But I seriously don't eat chips often.
I bought some Mums yesterday. They make me happy.
I'll be inside all weekend, we're finally getting some much needed rain. It's a beautiful thing.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
Happy (finding your gems) snapping!
xo
Kelly
Yay for rain! And I agree about the tater chips. Not exactly paleo-friendly, but sometimes you just gotta!
ReplyDeleteKelly, my word for the year is Healthy and seeing the potato chip made me smile as I don't eat many of them either but for this past week oh my they have been on my mind. I broke down and had a couple of small bags of them one was jalapeno cheddar and the other was a baked cheddar oh goodness I think I am hooked. I have never been a chip person before.
ReplyDeleteI love taking pictures of newborns, so have fun doing this. I am planning on staying inside the weekend also and hoping the rain will finally hit us as it is always a hit and a miss with us here in AZ. Keeping my fingers crossed it is a hit for us.
The yellow flowers are beautiful. Your potato chip is making my mouth water. I don't eat them often either, but I bought salt and vinegar chips for my daughter recently and oh how I forgot how good they are. Everything in moderation, right?
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are lovely, hard to be sad with those pretty mums around! Potato chips sound yummy and I agree that the crinkled ones are better for some reason. Maybe it is all of the crisp crunchy goodness?
ReplyDeleteYeah on visiting the grandbaby - you will have a blast taking pictures. I've ventured over to the pretzel thingies I mentioned on my blog a few days ago - it satisfies my urge for something salty and not "totally" good for you (but you are absolutely right - the curled up, extra crunchy ones are THE BEST). Yellow mums AND rain - a good thing in California.
ReplyDeleteYou can have some of our rain in the UK we have surpassed ourselves this year ! Visiting from Random 5
ReplyDeletethe mums are a lovely sight. it makes me think of spring.
ReplyDeletehave a great day.
Of course, the curly chips taste best - the taste is in the double crunch :)
ReplyDeleteA really great Random 5 and have a happy Friday :)
I hope your photo time with the newborn is fun! I too try not to eat chips so much I am getting into pretzels. Send some rain our way we need it. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right about the folded chips and I try to grab all those out first when we have potato chips. We. Need. Rain. where we are and hoping for it on Sunday. Your mums are beautiful - very cheerful.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the baby. Such fun.
The shot of the Mums is gorgeous! Well done!
ReplyDeleteI am so looking forward to the Erik pics ... but enjoy the time with him ... don't let the pressures of getting the right shot get in the way. I know you won't.
Every now and then I just love me a nice salty chip!!! LOL
Mwah! xoxoxo **hugs**
I hope it pours by you, I know CA needs it so badly! And I have to smile at the chip photo-I don't eat chips hardly ever, I don't keep them in the house, but when I do, I go for the very same ones. :)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see more pics of baby Erik!! xo
OMG, this cracks me up! I, pick out the same curly folded up chips, too! And now that you brought it up, I want some now!!! Hmmm. Can't wait to see your baby photos. Have a great weekend! Aloha
ReplyDeletegorgeous blooms. they are super happy looking. i love those kind of flowers. guess one reason why i love daisies - my favorites. ( :
ReplyDeleteMmm, potato chips ... I used to eat a lot, but I started eating healthier ...

Oh those mums are so pretty, Kelly, and what a perfect color when everything (here, at least!) is so gray.
ReplyDeleteGood for you on the healthy eating! My favorite chips are the ones with the ridges. :-) Can't remember the last time I had a potato chip though. Wish I could say the same for my chocolate-peanut butter ice cream. My one and only "regular" food vice. Gotta have at least one, right????
