"App" Happy...

...Wednesday

I'm joining Barb over at Keeping with the times for a new linky meme.
Today I'm going to share a photo I posted over on IG as part of a month long challenge I took with the  #Waterlogue app, which I adore.

Frankie was making Moussaka for dinner Monday night & had 3 beautiful eggplants which
I quickly snagged and snapped a few pics before he cut into them.

The original i-phone photo above is really nothing special~I cleaned the image up in PicTapGo by brightening up the shadows a bit and then added crispity to sharpen the image so that much of the lines would be better defined when I "painted" it.
Once I run an image through Waterlogue-I don't like to edit the final image.
They are pretty perfect as is.
Here...
...is the final image.
I used "Color Bloom" with the #8 brush size, normal light, and no border.
I adore how it came out.

I used the Lo-Mob app and the "superslide" frame for this image-

Lo-Mob is a great app to put a vintage spin on your images...and who doesn't love a little vintage?!

Ok...I'm off to go visit and get inspired from other app users...care to join me?

Happy (app) snapping!

Would you like to ride...

...in my beautiful balloon?

Kim's "LISA" was used in the above photo.  Florabella's Vintage Wine, soft light and 1968 were also added

Some of you know that Frankie and I recently returned from a road trip from the Grand Canyon. (Which btw, if it's on your bucket list, I highly suggest it move it to the top!) We drove from the canyon over to Sedona, checked into our hotel & quickly fell asleep for a 5:20 a.m. pick up for a sunrise balloon ride. I know some of you may be saying you could never do this because you are afraid of hts. Well, I'm here to tell you that I conquered my fear of heights and was only completely and utterly engrossed at the beauty of the Sedona desert.
We had a fabulous balloon company, Red Rock Balloons  who did an amazing job of piloting our balloon from take off to landing.
(I still won't like to have to climb a ladder, but I can sure ride in a balloon!)

From the minute you take off, the first thing you notice (besides the breathtaking landscape) is how absolutely quiet it is. There's a stillness and a peace that washes over you that I can only assume one would get in an open air basket, floating across the desert.

Earth...

...Day
2014

Nobody was more surprised then me that I actually thought far enough ahead to plan an actual photo for a later date! When Frankie I started to plan our road trip, I quickly found my Earth ball and packed it to be used for an Earth Day photo or two. I actually saw the whole photo in my head & Frankie was more than happy to put up, see to it that what I saw in my head is what I would edit and post. And seriously, what better backdrop for Earth Day than the Mojave Desert.
I'm glad to see more and more people are paying attention and doing what they can to help save our planet. But you know as well as I do, there is so much more that needs to be done. I am more aware than ever of our water consumption, what time of day I run big appliances, recycling and reusing whenever possible. I know personally there is a lot more I can do-so I will be spending time looking into how and what we can do as a family to go a little more green.
I mean why not go a little (or a lot) greener?
Look what we stand to lose. That become so much more evident here...

I'd love for you to share how or what you plan to do today and how you help our planet live and breath a little better.

Happy (Earth Day) snapping!

Happy jelly beans...

...and bunnies day!

Why hello strangers!
If I felt behind before Spring Break, you can imagine how I might be feeling today!
First and foremost, I want to wish you and your family a Very Happy Easter for those of you that celebrate. If you're like us and celebrate Passover, Chag Sameach, (Happy Holiday) to you and your family also.
I have quite a bit to share with you all and I will be stopping by your blog and getting caught up with you during the upcoming week.
Frankie & I got back from our road trip late Friday afternoon and I'll just say real quick that we had a blast. If you follow me on IG then you know I always tuck you in my pocket and take you with me on my get aways!

Here's a sneak peak for everyone else...

...there are not enough words in the English language to describe the Grand Canyon.
It absolutely took my breath away.
Hopefully you'll come back and see more. But for now,
I need to go and finish my laundry and get ready for the week (which includes getting back into the gym after more than a year of NOT going) ugh

Enjoy the rest of your weekend my friends.

Hoppy Snapping!

You have the answer...

...just get quiet enough to hear it
Pat Obuchowski

I didn't mean to be away-it just sort of happened. I've missed being here but as I read on my friend Tammy's  blog (as told to Tammy by her friend) blogging should be fun and not something on your to-do list.  I don't feel particularly energetic to pick up my camera these days and I don't seem to have any sparks of creativity...for the moment. I've been down this road before. Usually this time of year, as school winds down, it's all I can do to push forward and keep plugging away until summer vacation. So, I'm allowing myself get through this with minimal guilt!
Spring break officially starts on Monday, but I say when I leave work at noon on Friday, THAT'S when it starts for me. I've been sick with this annoying cold that's slowly getting better. Good thing too because Frankie and I have our very first road trip planned! We usually fly everywhere, but there's just too much we might miss on our way to the Grand Canyon, then on to Sedona and over to Death Valley. I'm so excited and I know THEN I'll be in full photography mode!
If you follow me on IG, you'll be tucked in my pocket and coming along with us.

And just so my brain doesn't completely shrivel & dry up, I am doing a 30 day photo challenge with the
Waterlogue app. That seems a bit more doable at the moment.

Remember the cell phone burn I had mentioned here?

Well, I decided to post the photo. After searching Google and not finding a lot of info on this anomaly,(except that it can happen) I decided to go to the Apple store and I got an on the spot phone replacement. The friendly folks at Apple were helpful and seemed truly miffed and apologetic that this happened. It would be interesting to know what, if anything, is found after the phone is sent in for investigation.

Passover is coming up. Soon Lemon Bars and Matzo Bark will be made in great numbers! I also found a flourless chocolate cake recipe I'll be making for dessert and taking to my sister-in-law's Seder.
Ok, that about get's you caught up with me. How are you? Anything new and exciting you'd care to share?

Happy (plow through the mental blocks) snapping!

Hello...

...Spring

Sharing over at Kim's Texture Tuesday
I used her "greaydayslate" and added Florabella's Ruby action tweaking both in Elements.

We received more much needed rain last night and more is coming. I love how the rain washes away dirt and dust and the deep, vibrant colors of wood and flora pop in the morning sun. Blossoms are busting, birds are nesting, and the world is waking from it's winter slumber.

Happy (Spring is coming) snapping
