Chocolate Chip Cookies...

...and being Gluten Free

*For those of you that don't know, I become gluten free by choice just about a year ago. Personally, it was a defining moment & I have never looked back. The one thing I miss is a GOOD sandwich on rye or sourdough but then I remember how rotten I feel when I eat bread & the craving quickly disappears.

So it was interesting when I baked these Toll House cookies for Austin (and who DOESN'T love 'em?) and one broke in half as I was taking them off the cookie sheet. I instinctively popped the smaller piece into my mouth, and after 2 or 3 chews, I spit it out! Whoa! The old me would've said..."get a glass of milk & eat the 2nd half of that cookie!" The GF me said..."that sure does taste funny!" I have gotten so use to the new textures and tastes of what I eat these days, there is no room for Toll House cookies!

I have absolutely no desire for the cakes, cookies & brownies I ate without batting an eye.
 Talk about an AHA moment!
BUT...

...Taking pictures of them is calorie free and it only makes me feel good inside!
Happy Snapping!

Fabulous photographs and wonderful post. I think it's awesome you spit out the cookie, and find it even more awesome you don't really miss things like Toll House cookies anymore. Now that is something to write about, Kelly! And how. :) xo
