And just like a Lens baby blur...

...it's almost a new year

I for one never know where my year goes & I always remember my dad saying, "the older you get the faster time flies." But when your young, who thinks about that? I just gave my dad an obligatory nod and "ok dad" kind of smile and ran off to play...certainly not paying any mind to what I'd just heard. But here I am, recalling what I always heard.
Today's photos were inspired simply by standing in line waiting to check out at Michaels and thumbing through this book PHOTOCRAFT
I stepped out of line to actually look at the whole book. I've got a Lens Baby composer tucked away, forever going back and forth to sell it or not. It's a completely different style of photography but I think I'm going to hang on to it, bring it out more often, play and experiment.

It's a little late in the day, but I'm playing over at Kim Klassen's today for Texture Tuesday.
I used her "Aurora" texture, linear burn @50%. I added Florabella's "waterlily, Modern Color, and Retro Lollipop all at very low opacities. Are YOU ready for the New Year? Are you on the "one word" band wagon? Hope you'll stop by tomorrow as I'm guest blogging over at FocusingOnLife
talking about that very thing.
Until then,
Happy (blur) shooting!

  2. I think you got a great image with your Lensbaby Composer; glad you're going to keep it. I don't have one and I just can't decide rather to get one or not.. Happy New Year

  3. I have had lenses that I go back and forth on 'she loves me', 'she loves me not' and either I'm just lazy or have comes to the conclusion that unless it is a flawed relationship, "she" will come around and might even be the brightest star in the stable one day (it's not you, it's me --- sometimes I just haven't found the right creative style to apply what the lens has to offer).

These are lovely - I'm a fickle fan of lensbabies, but when used in moderation, they can produce magical images.

    Happy New Year Kelly!

  8. Oh my gosh, I saw the other day they have a sale, and I've been wanting that, but I'm also saving for a bigger macro and or new extra camera body - so many decisions! Love the photos!!

  9. Beautiful Kelly! My Dad always said too soon old, too late smart which goes hand in hand with what your Dad said...sadly we don't listen to their advice until we are "too late smart"

  10. Oh, yes, the love/hate relationship with the Lensbaby. I have definitely been there. But every so often there is a bit of magic created that keeps me from selling it. Will have to check out that magazine! Your shots are wonderful and thanks again for your FOL post. It was great to have you as a guest and I hope you'll visit again soon.
