..."Red heads forever"
When is the last time you celebrated your hair? A-ha! You have to think about that one huh? Yeah, me too! All the things I use to hate, curse and cry about my hair, I felt like celebrating it today!
* We are being treated with summer rain and cool humidity today. It's a dream now, but I remember very vividly, on a rainy, humid, picture day in 9th grade, living in Pensacola, Fla....Hair nightmare! I have several several cowlics that DO NOT behave in humidity. And in 9th grade, on picture day, the picture that goes INTO the yearbook, for ever and ever is me, with horrible, cowlicky hair. I still remember how mortified I was when we were handed those pictures. It was a deeply emotional event in my life!
I guess if I was a cool kid or popular, it would have been different. But that was not the case.
* So today, I take back any power I ever gave to my hair and I celebrate all the cowlicks, the curls, the waves, the wisps, the grey...aye aye aye...(didn't realize I was getting so grey)....the GREY, and hope this inspires beautiful YOU to celebrate something you never thought was worth celebrating until now!
Happy Snapping!

You are one gorgeous chica...cowlick and all. As Tim Gunn says, we all just need to learn to "Make it work"
ReplyDeleteI am lovin' those cowlicks...I have a few in my head of hair also in the most inconvenient locations. Actually my head of hair is one of the finer things I count as a blessing. Always love your selfies...you are such a beautiful woman!!
ReplyDeleteI think you're adorable, and your hair seems to suit your personality perfectly. I had horrendous hair as a teenager... red and wavy and not a soul to cut it in a way that would work for me. It actually took me years and years to find someone who could work with it.
ReplyDeleteI'm missing my red though.... Didn't know you were a ginger, too!
Love the cut and the cowlicks and flips fit you. It took me awhile, but I eventually came to the realization that it is HAIR, cut it, color it, what ever. It will grow back, grow out, change. And the world won't end if you have a bad streak (and I've had my share with hair perms/cuts/colors).
ReplyDeleteI am LOVING your longer hair...it's so feminine. I love red hair too...I tried it once...dang color lasted about a week...LOL.
ReplyDeleteAwesome selfie (as always) :-D
ReplyDeleteLovin' the color .... getting used to the length!!!
So used to seeing you with that adorable pixie cut ... but change is good. ♥ **hugs**
Hi Kelly!
ReplyDeleteIt's been such a long time since I've had a moment to look at your blog. I picked a great day. You look amazing! Love the longer hair style. I've felt exactly the same way you describe on many occasions. I have curly/wavy hair that is always fighting to make it's way back after I spend loads of time with the flat iron. It's amazing how we always seem to want what we don't have. I live in the exact same climate you described just way south of Pensacola. Won't be feeling any cooler temps until the beginning of the year.
Hope all is well with you and your family.
Grace
Beautiful you! So sorry it has been FOREVER since I've visited you here! But oh my, you are still just as lovely as ever! Happy September sweet thing! xo
