It's a fall thing with me!

It's all in the perspective...

...and how you see things.

I see Mother Nature toying with affections!

But that's ok...I love a good game!

*Do you see why Autumn is a state of mind here in CA? Where else would you find wheat and Palms in the same frame?!

But my quest for a true Autumn feel has me looking for perspectives that could be anywhere Midwest USA.

It's out there...fall I mean...waiting...to be found.

I had to look up Percy Bysshe Shelley to find out that he was a romantic, English poet. I like to put a face to the name, read a bit on who I'm quoting. I sure wish I could come up with stuff like this. I am SO not a poet.

Is it just me, or is the sky really more lustrous this time of year? 

Today was more my speed, foggy in the morning, a chill in the air...like 68* chilly on the school yard. I love playing with the kids and would NOT let them whine and complain about how cold it was. "We just got off a heat wave and you want to complain to me about being cold? I have no sympathy...it's refreshing...no go on and stop your complaining."

Yup...no sympathy Ms Kelly, but they love me!

...for the "girls"

Do it for your pets

Do it for your friends

Do it for your women everywhere

But 

JUST DO IT

 I was really mad at myself several years back because I wanted to make a statement, a really BOLD statement about taking care of the girls. I mean, I have a camera, have a voice, had a public forum...but I was new to self portraits & sending out the message I envisioned was WAY outta my comfort zone! In the mean time, a year & 1/2  had passed, I had finished a 365 self portrait journey and felt I was ready. At the time, I chatted up my idea with Frankie, made him part of the process, and this is what I came up with. I was and still am very proud of this shot, (the technical issues aside!) But it's the message I want to get across LOUD & CLEAR!

As a matter of fact, I have a squishy date with my girls today~ 

Hence the post!

 SO stop being busy and just take care of them girlies! 

C'mon, 

you can go out for ice cream afterwards...

& be satisfied knowing you've done something good,

For 

    YOU...

THAT  matters

*Went to a local farm stand this past weekend (photos to come...I've got 31 days to cover!) and it's so fun to find love in nature.  I think it's a sign for us to slow down, take in the sights & enjoy the little things. The big stuff is always gonna be there, so Nature gives us small gifts. If you make the time, to look, it's there...

It's October...

...Big plans

Yup, it's October 1st and sort of outta the blue I have all these grandioso plans for the month! I think because in my mind, the word OCTOBER is a state of mind and for that reason I felt the need to make these ambitious plans...either that or something knocked me out cold and this is how I woke up! Case in point...

 I'm going to try REALLY hard & NOT complain about the weather...even though it's going to be 106*today...ok...starting NOW

...I'm NOT going to complain about the weather.

 I really want to sit and blog every day. I might not have anything profound to say but I want to get in the habit of sitting and blogging. 

It never really looks like a traditional fall around here, but being that the word OCTOBER is a state of mind, my job this month(should I choose to accept it)

 is to make YOU all THINK it's fall....Here, in So. Cal

...and short sleeves

...ok NO sleeves.  

You wanna know why?

 Cause it's 90* out!

 And there's plenty more of that where it came from...and she's bringing her evil sister, Humidity, with her in the next few days.

 I have one request, please...when you are out frolicking & enjoying your fall colors and cooler temps, sweaters, boots and scarves, think of me, dying in the sweltering, triple digit heat wave.
