Kick off to...

...Summer
Well, it's official. Summer is here and I can't think of a better way to kick it off than fresh fruit!
Remember these beauties?

Well I did something with these beauts that I've been wanting to attempt for a long time. Develop a Gluten Free dessert recipe that is every bit as good as a "regular" recipe. As the market is growing for this specialty diet, I want to be in on the process and make food that is delicious, so you don't feel like you are missing out on anything.
Here's what I came up with...
Warm Peach Crisp w/Gingersnap Crumble

I have to say, for my first attempt, it wasn't half bad. I have a lot of tweaking to do as the GF cookies don't behave as a regular cookie does when baking. But that's half the fun of developing dishes, the learning curve that goes along with it. (I ate most of it writing notes for future attempts!)
Now, it's also Texture Tuesday over at Kim's Kim Klassen cafe -
and the theme is "warm". THIS was a total no brainer for me! I used her "CHASE" texture in both.
Happy Snapping!

  1. Looks great, and nice choice of texture. My mother goes berserk for peaches, so when she sees these photos she's gonna be salivating all over the keyboard. :p
