Little Things...

...Thursday

Hi friends!
The days are flying by & with only 8 more days till summer vacation, I'm all giddy inside. I've been a bit absent minded of late...well...because there's only 8 more days till summer vacation & I'm all giddy inside!!
Don't get me wrong, I love my job but this has been a challenging year with the gas leak & our school's relocation. I had one particular 2nd grade class that really went through the ringer until we finally got a devoted long term sub. She salvaged what was left of the year and got the kids back on track. And that has been no easy feat either. The really good news is we just got word that the 2016-17 year will be in our own school...Yup, we're starting to pack up to move back!

So, I follow Sarah Here on her many wonderful excursions. I live vicariously through her beautiful words and photos. I really wanted to have my own little adventure this weekend, but Frankie left for a trip and both Austin and Amanda's had to work. So, I decided to pull a "Sarah" as I now call it, and  go on my own little day trip~alone...which is really not in my nature. There's a cherry farm about an hours drive north I wanted to check out so I gassed up and went!

Hard to believe that on one side of the road there's this stark, desert landscape...

...and on the other, a lush farm of over 4000 cherry trees.

Can you say
Bokehlicious!

I plan on doing a lot of little excursions over the summer...You know, pulling a "Sarah!"
What about you? Do you dare go on exploring on your own?
I'd love to hear.

Linking up with Kim today.

Happy (cherry picking) snapping!

  2. So proud of you for doing this! They get easier with each trip, now I love the chance to steal away for a day. Left alone with my thoughts it is amazing what creative juices get flowing. I hope to see many more "Sarah" adventures from you this summer. I plan on having a few more of my own. What a stark contrast, between the two sides of the road, so different than our cherry orchards.

    1. Sarah, Thank you again for The courage to go venture out on my own. I'm doing it tomorrow too. I gotta get out of the Valley...it was easily 100*. It's 20 degrees cooler in the city. I do wish we lived closer tho!

  3. Those cherries! Oh my! My favorite is the 2nd to last one though! Love that shot! My husband and I do day-cations a lot together; can't say that I do much traveling alone, unless it is a drive to Texas to see my daughter & grandchildren. I'm long over due for a trip...

  4. Bokehlicious! Great images! I would have never put the two pictures on the same road across from one another, that is a big difference. The cherries look delicious! My favorite way to eat a cherry is a dark chocolate covered cherry. Looks like you had a great trip, 'Sarah' style. You both have me thinking I need to get out have have a little adventure of my own. :)

  8. I have been thoroughly enjoying these on Instagram. I saw one or two of the cherry ones while leafing through waiting in line one day and just got to go back and revisit them - yummy. Now that is what I call a day trip.
