...Thursday
A wave of nostalgia washed over me this past weekend. That usually happens when my husband, Frankie, leaves on a trip and I have morning quiet time and cleaning the kitchen. Just the night before we were all sitting around reminising all the fun we had in Vegas when our daughter Jamie turned 21. Now, 9 years later, it's Austin's 21st Vegas birthday trip coming in August.
So, while he slept, I made pancakes...like I often did when he was little.
It wasn't even that I wished he was little anymore~but more when times and things and life in general was just more simple.
It's tough raising kids these days...and getting tougher. I see it everyday at school.
And so...for one little moment...life was as I remembered...uncomplicated...
...like pancakes.
Linking up with Kim today.

Happy (syrup dripping) snapping!

Time flies by so quickly. I agree, pancakes are good old fashioned uncomplicated and simple. Our kids have too much to worry about these days...
ReplyDelete...and how Michelle. Sometimes it's all I can do to catch my breath!
DeleteWow that looks so yummy

According to Austin-they were!!
DeleteWonderful memories ... and delicious-looking pancakes, Kelly. I'm really happy I don't have to raise children today in this cyber world, but my daughters and our grandchildren do have to deal with it :(
ReplyDeleteI don't really like pancakes all that much but I must say these photos made me rethink that. I like the little (silver dollar) ones the best.
ReplyDeleteThe carefree days of childhood certainly aren't carefree anymore, for the parents or the kids.
ReplyDeleteYou've captured the essence of an uncomplicated morning, Kelly - nicely done!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh Kelly. This actually brought tears to my eyes, because I am stuck in nostalgia mode. I have one adult and one almost, and I long for the easier days sometimes.
ReplyDeleteThis was a perfect post Kelly.
